David Fincher is known for his creative and visually ground-breaking title sequences.
From the frenetic and kinetic jagged cuts of SE7EN to the CGI extravaganza of THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO to the North by Northwest inspired large static font in PANIC ROOM.
The Title Sequence is a chance for the filmmaker to set the tone and prepare the audience for the world they are about to enter.
In Fincher’s new NETFLIX show MINDHUNTER…the use of subliminal edits is used to cue the viewers to the violent world of serial killers.

With 25 shots that all last just 4 frames each…Fincher and his editors have created an uncomfortable atmosphere that lashes out and gives a taste of the horrors to come.
I’ve captured each of these 25 images and let them play out for 4 seconds each so we can witness the detail that went into crafting an image that only lingers on screen for 4 frames.

In FIGHT CLUB, the alter ego of Tyler Durden (played by Brad Pitt) would splice one frame of male genitalia into the films he was screening. In MINDHUNTER we have 3 more frames to enjoy.

I thought of you when watching this show! I believe they applied some kind of bezier curve similar to your Vashimorphic After Effects preset, knowing that they shot with Spherical Leica Summilux-C lenses. I wonder if they got the idea from you?!?!
This and the intro of Dexter are masterpieces, hands down.
