In March 2014, I began work on the sequel to one of the most unexpectedly popular films of 2013. SHARKNADO hit the Syfy network on July 11, 2013. In the classic B-movie Hollywood style of Roger Corman…The Asylum delivered a cult film that was both embraced and reviled. Bottom line…a lot of people saw the movie. 7,000,000 watched it in the USA alone. It’s rated 82% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes and has a 3.3 rating on IMDB. So apparently it’s both good and bad? What does that mean? I have no idea. I saw it and loved it.
The sequel is coming July 30th, 2014.

Sharknado 2 invades New York in July 2014

New York is invaded by SHARKNADO 2 on July 30th, 2014

JAWS (1975) was the first film I ever saw…from the back seat of a convertible Volkswagen Bug with my parents at a drive-in theater. I was 4 years old and missed the last 30 minutes as I hid under a blanket, almost pooping myself. Now grown up and slightly less scared, I’ve always wanted to edit a shark movie and that has now become a reality. I’ve just finished the first cut of SHARKNADO 2. There will be many more versions, cuts, edits and changes but I’m proud to share a full screen peek at where we are now.

And yes…There will be blood.

Until next time…
